Rachel and Andrew’s modern acrylic botanical garden wedding was filled with a clean aesthetic, thanks to the work of Jennifer Matteo Event Planning. Modern lines and an ombre color palette ran throughout their celebration at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. From the bridesmaids bouquets and dresses, through to the flowers, and their incredible four-post acrylic chuppah with ‘floating’ombre florals by Victoria Blooms!
Their reception decor featured incredible floating lighting by Affairs in the Air, gold chairs, soft blush and gold linens, and striped, navy table runners!

The New York-based couple wanted their out-of-town wedding to provide a fun get-away weekend for their friends and family, choosing a destination in Florida that would reflect an area both their families spent time in.
The couple are total foodies who love craft cocktails, so of course they added bottles of whiskey behind their bar, and featured their favorite cocktails for their guests. Enjoy these stunning images captured by Katelyn Prisco Photography!
Our love story: Despite our parents and childhood home’s being less than 1/2 mile apart, we actually met after both coming back home to Buffalo NY, after living away, on the first day of to attend medical school! We instantly became inseparable and best friends, studying together for all of our classes, and going out for drinks and to play tennis together.
After four years we officially started dating in our final month of school, right before moving apart long distance for our residency training. From there we kept a long-distance relationship between Ohio and Michigan, until he popped the big question on the most beautiful summer day back in Buffalo at Hoyt Lake, the same place we had our last date in med school before moving apart for residency training.

My beautifully beaded lace dress was classic and clean. Form-fitting without being heavy.
The bridal party was styled in sheek long blush deep V plunging gowns, simple clean lines with gold shoes and matching gold jewelry. Each bridesmaid’s hair was styled with a subtle hair flower created individually using their own hair in a creative fashion to reflect the venue. The luscious deep pinks of our bouquets faded through the warm soft blush colors into a traditional wedding white, creating a gorgeous and sophisticated ombre effect.
Andrew wore a custom fit Navy shawl-collar tuxedo by Ted Baker. The groomsmen all wore classic black shawl collar tuxedos with matching pocket squares and blush pink mustache imprinted socks!
The amazing modern clear seating chart was made from a clear acrylic sheet with all of the guest names and table numbers engrave. It was set hanging within a wooden frame to give the illusion it was floating nearby the garden entrance.
Our wedding ceremony was around sunset in the garden, with beautiful greenery from the palm trees and plants as the backdrop. The ceremony featured an absolutely incredible custom-built clear acrylic 4-post chuppah with a gorgeous arrangement of ombre flowers by Victoria Blooms placed across the top. It gave the appearance of floating flowers overhead during the ceremony.
Our guests sat in matching clear chairs with the aisles capped with flowers which all accented the chuppah. The aisle itself was grass, adorned with scattered flower pedals. The ceremony was a relaxed reform jewish ceremony kept short and sweet, with the bride and groom writing their own vows.
The modern clean lines and ombre color palette that ran throughout the wedding continued through our reception decor. We chose gold chairs, soft blush and gold linens, and striped navy accents such as for the table runner on the head table. The head table was a feasting table for the bride and groom and entire bridal party with guests.
Guest tables were adorned with fun gold and glass ornaments on the tables with ombre floral centerpieces in gold vessels. .
The reception was held under a massive banyon tree in the botanical garden. Hanging from the branches of the tree were various size penant lights and edison bulbs. They lit up the sky to provide light during our nighttime reception under the stars.
