Stylishly Sophisticated Monochrome Matrimony ♥
Black and white bliss abounds in Chantelle and Ashley’s classy, crisp wedding celebration. The chic and sophisticated pair, whom you might recognize from their carnival of colours engagement shoot featured earlier this week, exchanged vows in the elegant spirit of monochrome matrimony.
Chantelle looked simply exquisite in a fairytale-style Maggie Sottero gown with a fabulously full skirt which she dressed up with a crisp black sash for the reception. Their beautiful bridesmaids wore off-the-shoulder short black cocktail dresses, while groomsmen in classic black and white attire sported little black bow ties – the perfect look for this stylish and sophisticated soiree. The day’s events were captured by the expert lenses of the talented team behind Lightburst Photography. ♥
Bridal Hair and Make Up:
My incredibly talented sister Daniella did my hair, we went with romantic curls swept to the one side. Sheri from the amazing Lightburst photography did my make up. We went with a soft smokey eye with a touch of magenta on the lip.
Maggie Sottero Taleigha Wedding Dress:
I wore my absolute fairytale dress, the Maggie Sottero Taleigha dress with embellished lace and tulle. This dress has a sweetheart neckline with fine lace and tiny crystal bead work, it is fitted to the waist and flares out to a dramatic full skirt. I went for the ivory dress which comes with a ivory waist belt for ceremony, and with my own touch I changed into a black waist belt for photos and reception.
Bridal Bouquet:
I decided to stick to the classic look and keep it all white with black ribbon around them. The flowers used were white roses, white pom poms and white lisianthus.
Bridesmaids: The bridesmaids wore an off the shoulder little black dress from forever new.
Groom and Groomsmen:
The groom wore a slim fit black suit from Boxer with a leather trimming on the collar. Instead of a tie he wore a cravat with white shirt and black waist coat. The groomsmen wore black suits with white shirt from Markhams and to add an extra touch to the classic, sophisticated look they wore bow ties instead of ties.
The Ceremony:
We went for a simple but elegant look in the chapel with pom pom flowers along the sides of the chairs along the aisle. White rose petals were strewn along the aisle and we shared the decor from our main table as decor for chapel which was a great way to keep costs down. The song I walked down the aisle to was Bryan Adams’ Right Here Waiting For You.
The Reception:
We went with two types of table settings. One option being a tall silver candelabra and small silver urns with white mixed posies at the bottom, and the other being a tall silver vase with a bouquet of mixed white flowers with crystal candle holders at the bottom. Every napkin holder was a black ribbon and every chair had a thick black ribbon tie back with a crystal pendant.
Wedding Playlist:
Our first dance was our MOST meaningful: Ellie Goulding’s How Long Will I Love You. Absolutely amazing and sentimental song.
Stand Out Wedding Vendors :
- The service and food was absolutely 5 star at the Moon and Sixpence. The friendly and professional staff members were constantly checking up on me.
- The photographers Clive and Sheri from Lightburst Photography were an extreme pleasure to work with, capturing our most precious moments together from start to finish on our special day.
