Veronica and Ryan’s bright and modern Kate Spade inspired wedding in Oklahoma was a sweet and chic summer celebration. Set in a whimsical palette of neutrals, blush pink, champagne sparkle, hints of black and white stripes, the day was filled with delightful details planned by Kylie at Social Events !
A black and white checkered dance-floor, whimsical blush pink cotton candy favors, a fun donut hole bar with old-fashioned serving carts, blush pink napkins emblazoned with “Best Day Ever” in gold, a flower girl with giant balloons instead of flowers, super fun signage and their pomeranian named Bear as their ring BEARer.Their food was a non-traditional having take-outs delivered instead, followed by pizza delivery at the end of the night! Seriously guys, I can’t even! These two gorgeous people are just the BEST!
“I received an email from Ryan before he had proposed to Veronica to get me on their calendar,” shares Photographer Sarah Libby . “He wrote the sweetest message about her and her vibrant personality and love for life. I was hooked. Fast forward to meeting them prior to their wedding and it was easy to see how in love they were and how excited they were to be married! Their wedding was a giant joyful celebration, full of confetti, lots of pink, and BOLD black and white. They had my favorite first look I have ever documented, full of tears, laughter, and excitement. There wasn’t a dry eye in house as Veronica walked down the aisle. So much joy!”
After the big day Veronica says they were completely OBSESSED with how beautifully their Kate Spade inspired wedding came together, and now we are too!
Modern Kate Spade Inspired Wedding in Oklahoma
I first met Ryan in college. Ryan tried to use our mutual friend to pursue me, and was very persistent. After several months he succeeded, and we fell in love!
Ryan had the proposal planned for a few months and I had absolutely no idea! My best friend invited me to go to an event with her to the Aloft hotel one random Tuesday evening that led to their rooftop. When we got off the elevator I saw a man who I realized was my dad waiting to greet us. He took my arm and walked me down the hall where all of our friends and family were lined up! He then led me out to the rooftop with my stepdad where Ryan was waiting to pop the question! After I said yes, we had the whole place rented out for a big engagement party with everyone! (Get your tissues handy and check out their proposal video!)
My dress was Rosa Clara’s “Sensual” gown, designed and made in Barcelona. It had a criss-cross, low back. My veil was cathedral length with 2 layers. I had been to MANY stores and tried on MANY different dresses, but I just had this vision of what I wanted in my head, and when I finally found it, I knew. Looking back I realize it was even the very first dress I had pinned on my “Wedding Dress” board on Pinterest!!
My hair was down and curled with a loose braid pulling one side back a little. All of my bridesmaids also incorporated a braid in their hair. My makeup was bright with a bold colored lip.
My bridesmaids rented dresses from Vow to be Chic! They were the JY Jenny Yoo “Taylor” in blush pink. This dress could be worn three ways and my girls wore the dress with the shoulder straps swooping down on their shoulder! They all wore matching Kendra Scott earrings I got them! Their bouquets included: white Hydrangea, Blush Anna Roses, Sahara Roses, and Eucalyptus.
My dashing groom matched the groomsmen, but was finished off by a classic Daniel Wellington watch I gave him as his gift!
Our groomsmen rented tuxes from Generation Tux and had the cutest black and white striped bowties. They also had a touch of black and white striped ribbon around their boutonniere. They also had matching polka dot socks that were the perfect pattern match to the stripes for our Kate Spade inspired wedding.
Our pomeranian named Bear was our ring BEARer, and was precious walking down the aisle! At the start of our wedding ceremony our Grandparents walked out to “Boom Clap” by Lennon & Maisy, followed by our parents, groomsmen/groom, bridesmaids, and flower girls who walked to “Never Stop” (the wedding version) by Safetysuit. Finally, I walked down the aisle to “A Thousand Years” by the Piano Guys.
We performed Communion during our ceremony with “Good Good Father” by Chris Tomlin playing. Finally, we exited to the ceremony as husband and wife to the “Best Day of My Life” by American Author. We had confetti sticks for guest to flick as we walked out.
My flower girl let go of VERY large balloons, instead of flower petals, also adding to the whimsical element. I am a kindergarten teacher and I invited my entire class to the wedding so that was something so special!
I had a “free flowing” bouquet with pink and white Peonies, Sahara Roses, Blush Anna Roses, bridal Piano Garden Roses, white Hydrangea, Dusty Miller, silver Dollar Eucalyptus, and White Veronica.
We rented the “Sophia” couch from Ruby’s Rentals and placed it under a large tree at our venue and people dropped off their cards and gifts on the couch before the ceremony, it was then moved in front of our backdrop for our Photo Booth!
Our wedding coordinator created the cutest sign to hang over our sweetheart table that read “For Like Ever” (she even recreated a smaller version that is hanging over our bed now) 🙂 We also had the CUTEST signs decorating our reception area!
Our wedding favors were blush pink cotton candy that added to our whimsical Kate Spade inspired wedding theme.
Our donut hole bar was created on old-fashioned serving carts with beautiful greenery and hints of black and white stripes. We had blush pink napkins with gold foiled font that said “Best Day Ever” with our wedding date on them.
We had a black and white checkered dance floor rented from Marianne’s Rentals that pulled our entire Kate Spade wedding look together!
