Edwill and Shanel’s Garden Route wedding in George, South Africa, is filled with gorgeous neutral tones of silver, green and white. The striking couple exchanged vows at Uitsig, which features a totally darling, rustic, farm wedding chapel. Their special day was complete with bridesmaids in effortlessly romantic two-piece ensembles, bearing eucalyptus wreaths, alongside dashing groomsmen with matching wreath boutonnieres.
Lovely Shanel was a hands-on bride, who planned and created almost everything herself – with a little help from the family and a few key wedding vendors. Photographer Liezel Volschenk was there to capture these beautiful images.

Love Story: We started out as friends at school, until the final year where we became high school sweethearts. We actually went to our matric farewell (prom) together. From there our relationship grew stronger and everything fell into place. We were eventually blessed with a beautiful daughter! One night he took me to a beautiful restaurant in Wilderness where he asked me to marry him. Of course, I said ‘Yes’!
Eucalyptus-Filled Garden Route Wedding
My bridal bouquet was made of eucalyptus wedding flowers (aka pennygum) for the greenery, with a mixture of white wedding flowers. A grey ribbon tied it all together into slight cascade bouquet.
I chose an off-white/ivory strapless wedding dress for my garden route wedding. The top of the gown was embroidered with crystal details, which overlayed to meet soft lace.
My girls were styled in grey maxi skirts with off-the-shoulder white ruffled tops. We accessorized with the hoop bouquets which just went beautifully with the outfit.
My groom and his groomsmen went with classic black pants and white shirts. The groomsmen wore suspenders with hoop boutonnieres to complete the look.
Uitsig, our Garden Route wedding venue in George, South Africa, has the cutest chapel! It didn’t need much added to it other than a few rustic floral arrangements down the aisle and at the altar. A violinist to welcomed our guests as they entered the chapel.
Two big floral rings of greenery hung above the dancefloor at our wedding reception. Fairy lights ran across the tables, which were covered in elegant grey cotton table cloths.
Table runners were made up of greenery (pennygum) with crystal-draped, silver candles holders. We used silver under plates, bearing napkins and each guest’s place card with a sweet treat.
