Juan and Margeaux’s Love Story & Proposal
The couple initially met at a popular student hang-out in Stellenbosch. After their first meeting, they met again on few other occasions and eventually started chatting and exchanged numbers. Margeaux then made the first move and added Juan as a friend on Facebook, which led to their meeting again, but this time for their “first date”.
After dating for over three years they went on their first overseas holiday together to Bali, Indonesia. Overwhelmed by such an amazing experience, on New Years day, the second last evening of their paradise holiday, Juan surprised Margeaux with a private sunset dinner on the beach with their own private butler. After great meal and much laughter, they decided to take a stroll on the beach and talked about their relationship and how much they loved each other. Then and there, beneath stars and in the wet sand, Juan bent down on one knee…and Margeaux begun crying before he had even asked the big question! Between the crying, she managed to say a definite YES! And the rest as they say is history!
The couple were married by Margeaux’s godfather, who was also her father’s best man at her parent’s wedding.

Real Bride, Margeaux’s, Top Tips For Bride’s-To-Be
- Learn how to say no graciously should creative ideas collide – Planning a wedding is a wonderful experience and you have to cherish each moment, says Margeaux. “We were very fortunate to have parents that were very supportive of our wedding day vision and they helped us unconditionally, but I would say that it is important to learn how to say no graciously should creative ideas collide, be it with your parents or service providers,” she explains.
- Do your research on who the reputable service providers are in the industry and get at least three quotes to make sure you get the best possible deal, advises Margeaux.
- Establish the difference between necessities and luxuries to help you to make decisions, says Margeaux.
