At the heartbeat of Ashley and Matt’s music lover’s wedding was love, family and details celebrating their mutual adoration for music. Because Matt is part of the Bay Kings Band, he and Ashley teamed up with Kimberley Hensley Events to bring the details of their music-inspired wedding to life. Photographer Laura Foote captured the music and magic of their brewery wedding at Green Bench Brewing Co.

“Ashley made drums for our guests to play when we said ‘I do’,” says Matt. “Pretty perfect because I am a professional drummer!” An urban art museum was the ideal backdrop for their intimate wedding ceremony. Handmade macrame drums for guests to beat, moody florals and excerpts from long-lost yearbooks celebrated their love story that started way back in high school. The day was quintessentially them and truly celebrated one of their favorite quotes:

“Music is life, that’s why our hearts have beats.”

Their cozy outdoor brewery wedding reception included details such as family style dining, a handmade macrame photo booth, gorgeous boho florals from Florist Fire , a Jimmy Eats food truck and, of course, music performed by one of the groom’s very own Bay Kinds Band. Guests all signed a green bench, left cards and gifts in a drum and danced the night away.

“We’ve been together since high school so it was really important for us to have a special day with the friends and family members who have always been there for us. One of our favorite moments was everyone eating family-style at our brewery wedding reception, says Matt.

Toasts, great food and drinks, and Matt’s bandmates taking the stage – it sounds like an amazing day and night to us!
