Vintage Meets Modern in Grey & Burgundy ♥

The lovely Annelize and Marinus’s white and burgundy Autumn wedding, held at Nantes Estate, was filled with soft, dreamy light and romance, all exquisitely captured by Charlene Schreuder. Working with Blooming Wonderful decor, Annelize planned the perfect celebration incorporating an elegant mix of vintage and modern wedding day elements.

Her breathtaking gown was created by Janita Toerien, and in addition to being beautiful, it was also an extremely meaningful tribute to her late mother, crafted from fabric worn in her mothers gown many years before. ♥

Grey & Burgundy Wedding at Nantes Estate

Love Story:  We were high school sweethearts and have been together for almost 10 years.  It was definitely love at first sight and we never looked back!

Bridal Style:  My dress was very sentimental as I used my late mom’s old wedding dress and incorporated it into my wedding dress, using all sort of different fabrics. Janita Toerien made the dress exactly as I had envisioned. Because I love orchids and roses I always knew they would feature in my bouquet. My hair was braided at the side and then all taken up out of the neck for comfort. Make up was very soft and natural look.

Groom Styling: My groom wore a light grey Carducci suit, Viyella white shirt, Polo Shoes and belt, all styled by Moi Styling.

Wedding Ceremony:  I walked down the aisle to The Piano Guys – A Thousand Years

Wedding Reception: The decor was done by Blooming Wonderful Decor all perfectly setup on the day. Our wedding guest book – was a finger print tree where guests left a finger print mark instead of a message.

Wedding Playlist: Imagine dragons – On Top of the World was played after we had signed the registry. We walked into the reception to the sounds of Shaun Jacobs – Love Can and our first dance song was Ron Pope – Our Song. The father-daughter dance was Paul Simon – Father and Daughter Song.
