Welcome to Paul and Courtney’s romantic beachside engagement shoot, shared by their wonderfully talented photographer, Stayc Connolly, from stayconnelly Photography.

It was a perfect January Sunday afternoon, at Fingal Beach, Queensland, Australia with a light on shore breeze and the sun setting peacefully on the horizon.

Paul & Courtney’s Love Story

How it all began: Having met at the age of 15, Paul and Courtney are true high school sweethearts! Throughout their 12 and half years together, they have shared many experiences, one of which were their younger days happily spent on Fingal Beach. When it came to their engagement shoot, this beach-loving couple longed to return to their roots and recreate the perfect setting at their much-loved beach.

Rustic E-shoot Inspiration

As they made their way to the beach, the couple strolled along sandy footpaths through the lush bush surroundings. Finding a wooden bench, they first decided to take a seat and capture a few great forest shots.

 

(Above) A lantern and an assortment of flower-filled vintage bottles and jugs that were dressed up with burlap and twine added a lovely rustic charm to their photos.

 

(Above) Paul and Courtney carried along a string of mini “love” bunting.

Joining along in their e-shoot fun was Paul and Courtney’s Shihtzu-Maltese, Ted, fondly known as Super Ted! Equally as excited to be ‘on location’ as the rest of them, he played his part by posing in their photos!!

 

(Above) With their vintage bicycle and picnic basket in tow, Paul and Courtney followed the quirky wooden signs to find their picnic spot.

A Rustic Beach Picnic

Paul and Courtney settled down for a rustic sunset picnic whilst overlooking the endless miles of sandy beach as the crashing waves.

 

(Above Right) A vintage glass lantern, old novels and scrabble tiles were also brought along to create their rustic picnic setting.

We love the great ideas for photo props that were used in their shoot – old books, bunting, bottles, lanterns, jugs, flowers and more, which all helped to create a rustic-inspired photo shoot setting.
