Southern Sweetness in a Gorgeous Garden ♥
Leigh Ann and Chris from Athens Georgia were married during the fall all at the gorgeous Thompson House & Gardens in a purple and gray garden wedding just dripping with florals. We’re talking florals on the chairs, florals on the tables – florals dripping from the chandeliers!
The couple, who had been together for eleven years, have a daughter together who made the most adorable flower girl. You’ll see what we mean when you have a look at these delightful photographs captured by Andie Freeman Photography. I just love the special moments between Leigh Ann, her bridesmaids and her lovely daughter as they get ready in what feels like a secret garden. Congratulations to the couple on a stunning celebration!

Love Story: We met our freshman year in high school when we were just 14. I thought he was adorable and I couldn’t resist “chasing” him 🙂 After practically growing up together we decided when we were 20 that we were ready to take the step and get engaged. I was having a terrible day & he took me to a local hangout with all of our friends. The venue started to play Brad Paisley’s “My Everything” and Chris wiggled me out to the middle of the dance floor. Then a spotlight came on and the music stopped and he got down and proposed to me in front of everyone. It was completely unexpected and couldn’t have been more perfect!
Wedding Dress: I didn’t want a completely strapless dress but I didn’t want straps either so I went with a over the shoulder one strap. It was a beautiful ball gown with just enough “bling” on it to not feel like too much. It only took 2 fittings to make it right and it fit like a glove on the big day, it was absolutely beautiful!!!
Bridal Party Styling: Bridesmaids wore beautiful deep purple halter top dresses (I didn’t want them to be tugging at the top of their dresses all night). They wore similar hairstyles to mine. Their bouquets were similar to mine just a tad bit more colorful. Groomsmen wore the same as the groom, just a different color tie.
Wedding Ceremony: I walked down the aisle to Jonathan Cain’s Bridal March to an outside arbor, with mini chandeliers, hanging fabric and lots of flowers.
Wedding Reception: The floral decorations from outside continued into the reception. The tables were decorated with mirrors and tall & short arrangements of flowers with pearls & candles.
Planning Advice:
Take you time and don’t rush. When the big day gets here it goes by so fast so don’t sweat the small stuff just have fun!
