Love at first meow! Today’s love cats, Bill and Heather, decided that they’d be getting meowied at a romantic destination wedding on the beach in Phuket. I kit you not – a purrfectly pretty cat-themed wedding! Does it get any better? Well, yes, it actually does!
In addition to fabulous feline details in honor of the couple’s love of kitties, the day was filled with loops of love. From bridesmaids bearing hoop bouquets decorated with whimsical florals in peach and citrus shades, to their beach wedding arch adorned with greenery draped floral hoops in a mix of sizes, and the circular dinner menu hanging over the bar at their wedding reception. Wow!
The couple’s beach wedding creatively included so many feline inspired details that you might just need to paws to catch your breath. From cat-themed wedding invitations to paw-print cookies as guest favors, and cat-themed order of service paddles which doubled as fans, the couple thought of it all. There was a cat-shaped ‘We’re getting meowied’ silhouette at the altar and table numbers illustrated with bride and groom cats. Even their cat-themed polaroid seating chart features pictures of their fur kids!
The couple chose a Phuket wedding as they had always wanted an outdoor wedding, Heather dreaming about a venue with lawn facing the ocean. This is not easy to do in Hong Kong, explained the couple. “We both wanted to celebrate the day with close friends and family in a cheerful atmosphere. We wanted to be able to talk to every guest during the day, making it memorable for both ourselves and the guests.” The pair had visited Phuket before, and loved the hospitality of the people there. They knew it was the perfect location!
Cat Lover’s Wedding in Phuket
Our Love Story: We met at work, and get to know each other at the company’s annual party. Our shared love for animals brought us together. He proposed in a park in Japan, while we were sitting on a bench and eating cheese rings. I put the cheese ring on my finger, and he suddenly took out the ring and said, “How about I give you a real ring!’ <3
For my beach wedding bouquet I wanted something natural and casual in shape with vivid colours. Wedding Boutique Phuket prepared a bouquet of roses, dahlia, and special Thai flowers in shades of blush, peach and yellow, finshed with eucalyptus leaves and ivy. The finishing touch? A silver cat charm!
I wore an elegant and classy lace wedding gown by Enzoani, with pinup style makeup (I love red lipstick and nail polish) and bright yellow shoes. My earrings had cat shaped details!
Our beach wedding altar was a simple wooden structure decorated with ivy with mixed sized hanging loops of loved, decorated with flowers.
Bill wore a classy blue suit in a stylish cut by Paul Smith, with a yellow tie by Ferragamo. The groomsmen were styled casually, wearing with khaki bermuda shorts, white shirts and matching bowties.
For our wedding ceremony backdrop we included organic and tropical details by adding fresh fruits along the aisle and at the side of our wedding arch, together with cute boxes, wooden slabs and candles.
Our bridesmaids wore light mustard yellow gowns with unconventional loop bouquets.
Our wedding reception featured tables set up in a U-shape so that our intimate group of guests would be well connected during dinner.
Jars of fresh flowers and along greenery runner with leaves and fresh fruits together with candle lights were set on the tables.
Our guestbook and polaroid seat charts were also cat inspired. We pinned some Polaroid photos of our three cats to the seating chart in order to feel them closer to us on the big day!
