Train Station Engagement Shoot
1940s Pre-Wedding Shoot
♥ ♥ ♥
Pre-wedding or engagement shoots are always a great chance to take a leap and go all out on a theme that you and your fiancé favour.
To do something special for their engagement and their upcoming vintage-themed wedding, Laura and Andrew were captured in full 1940s vintage elegance by their photographer, Charlene Morton, in such a stylish styled e-shoot at the Old Railway Station in Tintern, Monmouthshire, UK.
Braving the rain for these charming vintage shots, which reminds us of this 1930s Themed Retro Love in Colorado {Engagement Shoot}, the engaged couple’s train station shoot could be considered symbolic for their new journey into marriage!
Vintage Railway Station Photo Shoot
After searching for the picture-perfect venue, they came across The Old Station in Tintern. Originally built as a Victorian country railway station, the station with it’s original train tracks, control towers and luggage racks offered a charming flashback to the past in the Wye Valley.
1940s Vintage Wear: The couple were dressed head-to-toe in 1940’s gear for their styled pre-wedding shoot. Laura relied on her collection of vintage clothing that included a beautiful warm vintage fur coat, 1940’s dresses, shoes and accessories to complete her look. Andrew played the gentleman’s part in a dark tailored suit, braces and a pair of smart black and white brogues.
1940s Vintage Hair & Make-Up Styling: Laura’s hair was styled and her make-up applied in an authentic vintage style for that extra special touch! Make-up artist,Thea McDonald, used traditional 1950s make up techniques of demure roughed lips and soft charcoaled eyes to create a vintage look for Laura. Hair stylist, Lynn Taylor from Bride and Groom Hair Styling, created victory rolls for an old Hollywood glamour look. Apparently, even Andrew succumbed to having rollers in his hair!
The freezing cold February British weather ensured a steady stream of drizzle and called for an umbrella, which added to the atmosphere of their photos.
After making the most of the great photo shoot locations around the train station, the couple-in-love were ready to board the steam train in their 1940s vintage style!
