To make your 1920s vintage bridal look unique, it is all about accessories. A simple dress goes a long way for this era. The trick is to add in some vintage glamour elements into your bridal look. Small items such as veils or even a pair of earrings are the little touches you need to bring the romance of the Roaring Twenties to life. Of course, you do not need expensive one-of-a-kind pieces to be unique. There are a lot of other options that can turn a simple wedding dress into vintage glamour effortlessly. Items with beading, furs, feathers, flowers and lace is the key. (Talking about faux fur and old world glamor, take a look at Peter and Lucy’s Handmade Vintage Romance. ) Add on a long rope necklace preferably pearls or a feathered headband and you will see yourself being transported into the past.
Next, pick a gorgeous romantic vintage inspired dress, preferable a sleeveless deep V or U-shaped necklines. Decoration on the dress includes beading as well as fringes and even feathers. It can be a long, almost ankle-length dress or a shorter version, stopping just below the knees as long as the style of the dress is low-waist or straight (tanks style or slip dress) as the key was feminine grace but without curves. For those who are curvier or prefer a more feminine silhouette which emphasized the natural form of your body, get a dress with bias-cutting which enables fabric to fall into a smooth vertical drape and to cling subtly to your body.

As long as it is comfortable and matches your dress, you are now almost ready.
Even though you have found the perfect vintage items for your wedding wardrobe, hair and makeup are important as well. For brides with short hairs, it’s your lucky era for it was considered universally popular throughout that decade. Stylish curls and waves on short hair paired up with any vintage head accessory is going to look amazing. For those with long hair, you can pull it back into deep waves over the ears, coiled it into a chignon or knot it at the nape of the neck.
For makeup, it was obvious during 1920s, with red lips, powdered skin, and dark eyes. However, during your wedding you would want to look sophisticated and elegant. With just a bright red lipstick or emphasising on the dark eyes is enough to keep that vintage element going on. Lovely article. I happen to notice it because I take an interest in period styles. At the moment I have created a small line of 1920s hair acccessories focusing on accurate period detail. I also make custom orders. If you are interested you can view them here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ForgetMeNotClipArt?section_id=13679000.
