Romantic Pastel Wedding
The Vineyard Hotel, Cape Town

Habé and Chantalle’s wedding theme was a no-brainer. As a naturally soft and relaxed couple, they wanted every aspect of their wedding to reflect that. This Vintage Romance Wedding at Nooitgedacht Estate {Real Wedding} was similarly fun, relaxed and so romantic!
From their macaroon-inspired wedding colours to the entertainment and everything in-between, the many magical moments of Habé and Chantalle’s wedding celebration was a soft pastel romance captured by Lindy K Photography.
Soft Pastel Romance Wedding Look
Romantic Wedding Dress: What a beautiful bride! Chantalle looked exquisite wearing a sweetheart neckline Elizabeth Stockenstrom crystal-embellished Chantilly lace wedding gown with lace cap sleeves and a soft trumpet style skirt.
Soft Pastel Romance Bouquets: The bouquets were a delightful mix of spring pastel blooms with the showpiece flower being the gorgeous pink Protea.

Habé and Chantalle’s Love Story
Chantalle tells us a little about how they met and fell in love: We met at work. The first time we talked to each other, we were in the lift and I was hiding cookies behind my back that I was snacking on. HB asked me with a smile, “What are you doing?”. I sheepishly admitted that I was enjoying eating my cookies and then I took the cookies from behind my back and offered him one. We both just burst out laughing. Our first date was magical – I knew immediately that I loved him.
The Tale Of Their Proposal
Habé’s super romantic proposal was a surprise that she will never forget, says Chantalle… HB is a super romantic person. He took me away on a surprise weekend. I was not expecting the proposal, because we had been doing amazing things for a few weekends before that. He whisked me away on a magical picnic at our favourite wine farm, followed by a couple’s pamper massage. We then booked into Clouds Estate in Franschhoek (the most gorgeous guest house) where he proposed over champagne with the most romantic Adam Sandler-like poem that he wrote about all the ways he loves me and why he loves me. It was magical and I still get goosebumps when I think about it. I am so blessed and lucky.
Soft Pastel Romance Reception at The Vineyard Hotel
Their South African wedding reception was held in an airy and light-filled venue at The Vineyard Hotel. Chantalle shares that it was a celebration filled with surprises: Our niece performed a special song that had everyone in tears. There was also a surprise father-daughter dance where my dad and I tore up the dance floor to a mash-up of Butterfly Kisses, Jump on it, the YMCA, The Twist and Gangnam Style. Then my amazing husband surprised me by singing me a song written by Michael W Smith “You belong to me”. It was the cherry on top of our perfect day!
Soft Pastel Romance Wedding Décor: The wedding decor added to the light and romantic atmosphere that Habé and Chantalle were going for. Plenty of glassware and candles, pastel-coloured lace and satin ribbons with gorgeous brooches, and white paper lanterns with hearts and fairy lights were used to decorate the indoor venue.
(Left) Soft Pastel Romance Wedding Flowers: The wedding flowers were mini replicas of the bridal bouquets, which Chantalle gave away to all of her female guests and family at the end of the reception.

They infused their personalities and love of fun and whimsical things into all of the details, so their wedding was a great reflection of their style together as a couple. As the couple both adore macaroons, their wedding was overflowing with macaroon-inspired colours.
Soft Pastel Romance DIY Seating Plan and Table Numbers: A mirror seating chart was created to match their unique table names. They handmade all of the table names, which were inspired by all of their favourite things such as Petit Fours, Nutella, Chocoholic and displayed in round diamante frames
DIY Wedding Programme: One of their favourite wedding projects included the cartoon wedding programme that guests received before the ceremony. Chantalle designed the cartoon programme that included cartoon characters of the couple and their wedding party. Detailing their love story and then the order of the wedding events, the programme, was super fun and reflected the couple’s humour so well.
Soft Pastel Romance Wedding Cupcakes Tower A tower of cupcakes and a mini wedding cake was displayed on a whimsical 5-tiered cupcake stand.
Real Bride, Chantalle’s, Tips For Brides-To-Be
- Trust your own style and what you like as a couple. First, stay true to who you are as a couple. Then look at wedding blogs, photographer and videographer sites for ideas.
- Brainstorm a colour palette that you both love. Take a day or two just to brainstorm and decide on a colour palette that you both love and then work on the details from there.
- Resist the urge to be a control-freak over every little detail! Delegate tasks to your bridesmaids, best men, sisters and brothers and your mom, mom-to-be and your fiance –they helped me so much and I would not have gotten everything done in time without them.
- Wear your wedding shoes in beforehand. Make sure you wear your shoes in beforehand so that they are comfortable
- Get along with your wedding suppliers. Make sure you deal with suppliers that you like and that you get along with.
- Ensure that everyone will have a blast! The most important thing is to make sure that everyone has a good time, so spend your budget on the “party factor” – music, food and wine. Make sure there is a big enough selection of good food and that dessert is yum, and that you have amazing music and entertainment planned.
- Have enough wine and beer at an open bar. Make sure that all other alcohol is on a cash bar basis.
- Set a reasonable budget for décor and flowers and stick to it! Don’t be tempted to go over that budget.
