Rustic Wedding Romance
Green & Cream
♥ ♥ ♥
Just outside of Pretoria in South Africa, Lizelle and Michael celebrated their wedding in a one-of-a-kind rustic style! Inspired by the fairytale rustic vibe of the Die Akker wedding venue, they created an occasion bursting with beauty, love and many rustic metal hearts floating around.
Indeed, love and romance was in the air. Rensche Mari Photography was there to capture the love bursting from every detail of their special day. From Lizelle’s incredible ruffled wedding dress to their dreamy indoor South African wedding reception, marvel over the many beautiful details.
Rustic Wedding Look
Rustic White Wedding Look: Lizelle looked uh-ma-zing dressed in a heavenly white ruffled wedding gown from GF Bridal Couture and a pair of cute sparkly pumps.
Rustic White Bridal Headpiece: She created her own bridal headpiece fascinator using a diamante hairclip and netting, which she put together by following an online tutorial.
Rustic Green and Cream Bridal Bouquet: Her bouquet was an elegant and understated arrangement of long-stalked cream roses. Beautiful!
Rustic Green & Cream Die Akker Wedding Ceremony
The Die Akker wedding venue was the perfect space for a romantic ceremony. Adorned with wire hearts and words of love and joy, the venue the ideal canvas to add candle and floral arrangements for extra charm.
Lizelle and Michael’s Love Story
Sharing the story of how they met, Lizelle begins by saying, “This is going to be a bit of an odd one, but it worked out well. We met at a rugby game at Loftus. Michael decided at the last minute to attend the game, his first one ever at Loftus. I was working there that day. With Michael’s non-existent knowledge of rugby seating, he accepted the furthest row of seats from the field. After 5 minutes of trying to watch the game, he decided to head on down and watch the game on the TV. This happened to be the area that I was working at that day. Michael says that he found this to be the best seat in the house! With a lot of convincing, he managed to exchange numbers with me. The next day we contacted each other and set up a coffee date, and from there it was love. Much more romantic than what it sounds”.
The Tale Of Their Proposal
The sweet tale of their proposal in Lizelle’s words: “I had suggested that we take a trip to Cape Town, so we arranged a weekend away to Cape Town. We planned to do the whole tourist thing – visit wine farms, go to Robben Island and up Table Mountain. As the trip away was my suggestion, I was completely blindsided by the proposal. Michael slipped the ring into his backpack and sneaked it along. On the Saturday morning, we were up bright and early to visit Table Mountain. I did not suspect a thing. Michael managed to propose on Table Mountain with no one around us. It was truly a magical moment”.
Rustic Green & Cream Die Akker Wedding Reception
(Above Left) Rustic Wedding Blackboard Signs: These affordable and handy rustic blackboard signs were used to direct their guests to the welcome drinks area, as cute decor, table numbers and to display their wedding menu for all of their guests to see.
Wedding Cake: They had a gorgeous two tiered wedding cake with chocolate border detail and chocolate heart cake toppers. Theirs guests were each treated with a cute cupcake dressed up with a decorative chocolate heart.
Rustic Green and Cream Wedding Décor: The couple loved the fabulous Die Akker venue as the heart-inspired theme was very well displayed throughout the venue and only minimal decor items were added to achieve the overall effect.
(Above) The Die Akker reception venue was decorated with many hearts, varying shades of green organza and romantic candles and fairy lighting.
Rustic Wedding Gifts and Favours: The table seating decoration also served as their Thank You gifts. All of their friends and family loved the hearts that they received, which they could take home as a keepsake and use to hang in and around their homes. It really was a cost effective way to decorate, thank our guests and take care of the table seating arrangements using one item.
Rustic Green and Cream Wedding Flowers: Keeping it simple, they used white roses with green succulents and other greenery to fit in with their venue and colour scheme.
