A Hotel or Wine Estate Wedding
According to Nicci, “trendy hotels are fantastic venues as they have everything needed for a wedding, so very little hiring needs to be done, food and décor are usually on trend, and one can usually negotiate great deals that include discounts or free accommodation for the bridal couple and preferential rates for all your guests”.

In addition to the benefits offered by hotels, Wine Estate weddings offer the added benefits of the gorgeous outdoors, as seen in our useful list of 20 Garden & Outdoor Wedding Venues, Cape Town, which boasts a multitude of amazing wedding venue options along at wine estates. “Wine Estates are fantastic for spring or summer weddings as guests can enjoy blossoming flowers and celebrate new beginnings in the Spring,” shares Nicci.
MOSTLY C’S? YOU’LL LOVE:
An Outdoor Garden or Forest Wedding
Forests or garden venues can be beautiful and mystical places for ethereal, intimate weddings ideal for an outdoors ceremony under an ancient tree followed by a reception under a stunning Bedouin tent. “Or,” suggests Nicci, “just picture an Alice-in-Wonderland styled high-tea for your nearest and dearest in your auntie’s big, back garden”.

MOSTLY D’S? YOU’LL LOVE:
A Barn Wedding or Going ‘Glamping’
Rustic, country style barn weddings are perfect for hosting festive weddings with the surrounding farmlands offering a great photo backdrop. The opportunity to have an outdoor ceremony that leads into the reception barn venue may also be possible.
“For carnival or vintage themed weddings, luxury caravan and camping parks have become increasingly popular,” Nicci says. However, Nicci cautions that planning to have your wedding at one of these quirky venues will not result in a traditional wedding by any means!

An Out of Town or Destination Wedding
A weekend-away-wedding is a great excuse to get out of town. Nicci suggests hiring out an entire guest house and having a small town wedding. “This is a fantastic way to leave it all behind for a few days and extend your celebrations over a whole weekend while experiencing a new place!”
Some couples that are bitten by the travel bug don’t quite like the idea of spending a lifetime’s worth of savings on just one day, and instead combine their wedding and honeymoon into one. Nicci tells us that a destination wedding is perfect for the couple who wants to share their special day with those closest to them, while travelling to an exotic location at the same time, to say their “I do’s” in paradise.
