Chris & Whitney’s Love Story
Whitney shares their sweet little love story…Chris and I met in 2003 when we lived in the same dorm at the University of TN. We started dating that next Fall and our relationship just clicked! It wasn’t always easy ( no relationship is) but it was always easy to love each other and we are very lucky to have always grown together in such a pivotal time of our lives.
The Tale Of Their Proposal
Here’s how Chris popped the questioned according to Whitney…We went on vacation (or so I thought) to Jamaica in August 2012 and planned a private dinner that the resort offered on their private island. This dinner was delayed several nights due to hurricane Ernesto, little did I know how nervous this was making Chris, as he had the ring in our room, but not in the safe since I would see that. We finally went to dinner and after our entrees he began making this speech that I thought nothing of at first, then as he went in I began to realize what was happening. He then dropped to one knee and asked if I would be his wife, my response of course was YES! It was so beautiful and romantic, even better as I was so surprised.

Real Bride, Whitney’s, Tips For Bride’s-To-Be
- Just breathe and remember it will not be ‘perfect’. If you go in expecting it to be a fairy tale you could end up disappointed about something your guests probably won’t notice. This is supposed to be fun! Getting hung up on the little things will take away from what this is all about, you and your partner. I can’t say I was a rose all the time but at the end of the day, I remembered I just wanted to marry my love and it didn’t matter where, when or how.
- Talk to your vendors and be very honest about your budget. They will have great ways to cut some cost while still keeping the elegance and feel you want.
- Dream big then scale down once you have priced things out. You will be surprised at what you can get and if you or your friends are crafty, then DIY!
