Flea Markets
A list of Cape Town’s Flea Markets, which are perfect for finding those vintage gems is provided below. As some flea markets are weather-permitting, before attending, it is always best to contact them or visit their website to confirm that it is taking place.
(1) Milnerton/ Paarden Eiland Flea Market
- When? Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays (excluding Christmas Day and Good Friday) between 8am – 2pm (Saturdays and Public Holidays) and 3pm (Sundays)
- Where? Along the R27 highway (Marine Drive), between Milnerton and Paarden Eiland
- What? This is a fleamarket with plenty of second-hand bargains, bric-a-brac, collectables, militaria and Antiques at bargain prices.

(2) Muizenberg Flea Market
- When? Sundays, including public holidays between 8am and 4pm
- Where? Cape Town South, At Sunrise Beach, located at the roundabout (Sunrise Circle) at the southern end of the M5 highway.
- What? This is a fleamarket with many bric-a-brac stalls, clothing, furniture, second-hand and affordable goods and some food stalls.

(3) Somerset West Flea Market
- When? Saturdays between 8.30am – 3.30pm
- Where? Cape Town East, Monkey Town in Somerset West off the N2
- What? This is a new weekly flea market near Cape Town with second-hand goods, gifts, arts and crafts as well as food stalls.

Vintage Specialist Rental Stores
- (4) Classy Hire in Paarl, stocks a lovely Vintage collection of silver and Antique linen and other gems.
- (5) My Pretty Vintage in Cape Town, offers décor and accessories for hire.
- (6) A Vintage Affair in Somerset West, has a wide rage of Vintage decor and charming Vintage tea sets, crockery, tableware, glassware and silverware in various colours, designs and styles for rental.
- (7) Hot Tuna in Salt River, stocks a collection of ornaments, décor and other adornments that can be hired to dress your wedding venue.
- (8) Artappel Prop Hire aka Artichoke Design in Woodstock, is a prop rental store that will overwhelm you with its collection of old books, picture frames, cutlery & crockery, chairs, lamps and carpets.

Cape Town inner city has a few hidden gems if you take the time to browse into the alleyways and side-streets. Then again, the smaller towns and surrounding areas of Cape Town are the perfect places to browse for authentic Antiques or Vintage-inspired décor items. - (13) Woodstock – If you take the time to walk through the smaller streets, you find the most amazing little shops that are not as familiar or ‘commercialised’ as the ones in Albert Road.
- (14) Kalk Bay – You can find lots of gorgeous goodies in the awesome shops along Kalk Bay Main Road.
- (15) Greyton – Take a drive to Greyton and pay a visit to their quirky Antique shops to source a few fun and unusual items that are spread amongst the streets of this charming town.
